Cohort Systems Inc. is working with the École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) to develop an analytic technique for comparing commercial IMUs and Accelerometers. This will be used to assist the selection of a sensor that is suitable for a specific Mobile Robot.
Cohort Systems has been working with the University of Ottawa to develop of computer vision based techniques for Mobile Robot localization.
Cohort Systems has been working with Carleton University to investigate the application of distributed Kalman filter algorithms for sensor fusion.
The research and development of Mobile Robot systems conducted by Cohort Systems has been approved for the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program. The SR&ED Program is a federal tax incentive program, administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Cohort Systems has received financial support from the National Research Council Canada (NRC) Industrial Assistance Program to support research and development for indoor Mobile Robot navigation. IRAP also provides business development advice and linkages to experts within government, academia and industry. The NRC is an agency of the Government of Canada, reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Industry.
